The executive team at Discovery Point not only runs the day to day operations of the business, they are hands on leaders who provide consulting services to their clients. Our consultants are senior resources who can work independently and with your team to deliver quality results.
Harold Lownds has over twelve years of progressive IT experience in various roles including team lead, architect, analyst, designer and developer. He has experience in many different technology platforms while working with a variety of clients, and is able to apply best practices and technologies best suited to the client’s situation. Harold builds excellent relationships with his clients and adapts to new environments very quickly.
Through formal education and as a consultant with several Halifax based information technology consulting and services organizations, he has gained the valuable skills required to succeed in any environment. As a consultant, he continually adapts to new environments and is able to do so with ease while quickly learning the client’s business and gaining their respect. Harold often works on several projects concurrently and can prioritize work effectively. He has continued to keep up with current technologies in order to serve clients without any bias towards a particular vendor.
Harold co-founded Discovery Point Solutions in 2006, and continues to provide high quality consulting services to clients.
Susan Browne is a Senior Project Manager with over 20 years of project and operations experience in the fields of information technology, telecommunications, insurance, and government. Her extensive experience as a consultant has provided her with a solid understanding of how organizations work and the importance of utilizing business processes that are effective and efficient. As a Project Manager, Susan excels at planning, facilitation, communications, and project control. These skills have contributed greatly to the success of her projects. Susan has worked on several large, multi-year, multi-million dollar IT projects, as well as many smaller projects throughout her career. She has established Project Management Offices for several clients and delivers a customized Project Management course based on client’s requirements.
In 1998 Susan was a founding partner of Cornerstone Project Management Group, a professional services firm based in Halifax. As Chief Operating Officer, Susan was responsible for the daily operations, including budget management, financial reporting, payroll, contracts, legal, resource management, and delivery services. Susan is efficient at operational strategy, and understands the importance of bringing vision to reality. She works collaboratively with her team to get the best business results. In early 2003, the partners sold the company to CGI, where Susan continued to deliver excellent service to her clients until co-founding Discovery Point Solutions in 2006.
Susan is a member of the Project Management Institute, Nova Scotia Chapter. In 1999 she was certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and received the PMI-NS President's Award for Excellence in 1999 and 2000.
